Christmas Social Meeting
Our ‘First Friday’ for December, kicked off the festive season with a splendid array of Christmas jumpers, sparkles, general bonhomie, and goodwill to all.
The jumper offering was spectacular this year but the ‘Best Dressed Award’, without doubt, went to a gentlemen in a red suit, white trim, bobble hat and matching beard, our very own Santa Claus. With a jingling staff, and a sack full of chocolate coins, Derek Kalinski was so convincing in character, that some members struggled to identify our surprise guest.
Full to capacity all night, 50 PSYC members nibbled on ‘pigs in blankets’ and chicken fries plus the odd chocolate coin!
Susan and Santa were keen to ‘recycle’ the marvellous props used at Pickle Night and some lucky grandchildren may soon be in possession of a crown, a policeman’s helmet and squeaky truncheon, and two beautiful hobbies horses, with only a few careful riders to their name.
Santa also gave Commodore Gail Leaver her own gavel to bring us all into order.
Most of us did get to visit Santa and there are some lovely photos in the gallery above.
So, on that note, wishing all in PSYC a Very Merry Christmas and a successful and fun 2025 out on the water.
Susan
