Pop Up Tender Rally - The Crate at Trafalgar Wharf
Saturday 17th August
The crossing to The Crate was navigated in Armada style and with care as we were only two hours after low water but this was sufficient to give half a meter clearance over the sill at Trafalgar Wharf’s inner harbour.
Moose calls again to the assembled crowd on the terrace at The Crate as quite a few folks came by land. With some further arrivals by rib ( some of whom are not members but know the great times we have as a group ) took our head count to well over 40. Another great turnout.
The DJ, Wax Lyrical, toned the music expertly to the night both in volume and content. The brilliant Pizza offering was well used and your author had another Puttanesca, simply delicious and good value too. It was delightful to meet the crew of Bahari on their first pop up who were made most welcome.
Many libations later and after much great conversation the various crews made their way back by boat or land. The breeze had gone leaving a lovely sail back on the water reflecting the glittering lights of Port Solent.
So another wonderful night was had by all, down only to the fact that Port Solent Yacht Club has a very active, engaged and diverse membership. After all it’s you guys who support our events that make the events so much fun.
Thank you to all attending,
John / Liberty.
Quick heads up, if the weather gods align ( as the medium rage forecast currently shows ) I hope to host our first Pop Up Anchor Off Rally to Priory Bay at the end of the month. So keep an eye out on your email inbox.
