Despite an unsettled weather 8 boats arrived at East Cowes on Bank Holiday Monday, some having a rather wet sail across the Solent and others joining us from the Bembridge Weekend Rally.
Drinks were by “nicknack” where 17 hardy folk met outside. It was a distinctly chilly evening before we all warmed up at The Lifeboat Inn for dinner. Surprisingly, the last orders were called at 21.30pm, due to it being a Bank Holiday. I can’t say that anyone was upset about this as we all fancied an early night.
On Tuesday, members and crew did their own thing, some heading “over the water” to West Cowes, others pottered around East Cowes. Some even caught the bus to The Folly for lunch, where new members Ray and Janet joined us by water taxi. It was an extremely wet day when sensible folk stayed inside and the rest drowned!
As it was still raining at 6pm Ray and Janet invited us all to join them on their lovely boat “North Landing” which had ample space for us all to sit in comfort under cover.
Some members then joined up together taking their meals to eat/share on others boats and some just had a cosy night in.
On Wednesday morning we left some to head West and most to head home – it was by then dry, warm and sunny!
Thank you all, Amoret, Astrid, Jango, North Landing, Pikorua, Shiraz and Thomas Hardy for joining us and a very big welcome to Ray and Janet on their first PSYC rally.
