Our visit to Lymington didn't get off to the most auspicious start as our rally leaders Steph and Steve Jones got as far as the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour and engine problems forced them to take 'No Faffing' back to port, leaving Gail and Nick Leaver to ably take over the reins.
Windy weather was the main feature of the weekend but a total of 7 boats eventually arrived at Dan Bran by the Saturday afternoon and we gathered alongside 'Adriana' and 'Nicknack' for pre-dinner drinks in some welcome sunshine.
The meal at The Haven on Saturday was a success as we tucked into a fine selection of seafood choices. The evening was capped off with a nearby firework display, although I'm not sure it was entirely intended to honour our visit!
Sunday morning saw clear weather and a brisk south westerly to carry some of us over to Cowes for another night away while the rest made good time back to Port Solent.
'Adriana' even managed to goose wing as she left the Needles behind.
