With the weather constantly changing, you never know quite what to expect when traversing the Solent. And so it was for the passage to Lymington on 1st August, blustery wind against tide. However, the sun shone brightly to welcome PSYC for their rally to Dan Bran pontoon. Welcome us they most certainly did; despite initially only having six mooring spaces for the yacht club, 12 boats were accommodated with the remaining three staying in Lymington Yacht Haven. It was lovely to see so many people enjoying their time on the water. We all thank Commodore Mike and Graham Long for their assistance in making sure visitors moored up safely.
Six o’clock saw the familiar gathering of PSYC people on the pontoon by Andiamo but this time all drinks were of the ‘bring your own’ variety. Dinner was booked at the RLYC for 19.15 hrs where Gillian and her team provided us with a Thai chicken curry. We were their first rally since reopening. A limited menu, socially distanced tables and drinks ordered from your table allowed 31 of us to get together in the clubhouse and later on the balcony for a lovely evening.

Another beautiful sunset, meant that any time was too soon to go to bed so David and Cathy Riley’s catamaran ‘Spree’, gave us the space that was needed for a late night tipple followed by a fabulous bacon Sarnie; David, you are a star!
